Kids first names & ages: Andrea, 14, and Joshua, 18
How did you get into floral work?
I started out as holiday help, processing flowers and fruit baskets. I got hired on full time as the flower professor, and I would watch the designers every day, showing an interest in designing. They started teaching me little by little. I had a knack for it and caught on quick.
What do you love most about working with flowers?
I love being able to come into work every day and breathe in all the wonderful-smelling flowers. It is very calming.
My favorite flower is alstroemeria. it’s long lasting, and I like the different variety of colors it comes in.
What do you love most about being a mom?
I just think it’s amazing knowing that you brought life into the world and are helping to shape the future.
What flowers or flower design do moms really want for Mother’s Day, from your point of view?
In my opinion, I think that the wildflower look is popular, like it has been just picked from nature and brought straight to the table.
If you could pick one design from your selection to receive yourself, which would it be?
I like The Kentmere. The color palette of orange and green just go so well together mixed with succulents. It is just gorgeous.
