October is for Breast Cancer Awareness

breast cancer awarenessBreast Cancer is a devastating illness that can destroy lives. An estimated 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime according to BreastCancer.org. That means that this common illness impacts nearly everyone in some way.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. During October, organizations and concerned people help raise awareness of how devastating this disease can be and how important early detection is for a successful outcome. In an effort to spread the word about this important cause, breast cancer awareness advocates work to paint everything in pink.

To help spread awareness as well as show your support for others involved with the breast cancer movement, giving pink flowers can be a spectacular gift. These flowers will help give the gift of hope and life while also reminding people of this important cause each time they see them. At Boyd’s Flowers we enjoy helping customers find the right flowers to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness. Here are a few of our favorite arrangements.

Pink Rose Dozen

Roses are a classic and much appreciated way to show someone how much you care. They are commonly used to express love and appreciation, which are beautiful messages for this month. The brilliant pink in these roses will perfectly express the colors of the month and make it clear your love and support for those struggling with breast cancer.

This beautiful arrangement shows a variety of the shades of pink available among flowers. The stunning Asiatic lilies, gerbera, miniature cluster roses and large roses will make a fantastic impression on any recipient. The flowers will light up any room and be a ray of hope for all those who are struggling.

Basket of Cheer

This basket prominently features beautiful pink carnations that are perfectly complemented by purple statice and yellow daisies. The bright, bold colors will add a burst of light during a month when much of the country experiences a dearth of flowers outside. This is a basket that can be used to light up the entrance to a home.

Breast Cancer is a terrible disease, and each October society works to raise awareness, money for research and encourage people to get checked by painting the world pink. You can participate this year by buying some of these gorgeous pink arrangements. Give them to a loved one or keep them in your home to show your support for the cause. At Boyd’s Flowers, we would be happy to help you find the arrangement that best fits your needs.
