Every month of the year has its’ own official birth flower; and the month of April celebrates the daisy. Over the years, there have been many meanings assigned to this iconic spring plant. Back in the Victorian era, the daisy was a symbol of loyalty and trust. In Roman mythology, the flower stood for innocence and modesty. In more modern times, the daisy is thought of an an emblem for simplicity, purity and childhood innocence. Daisies are one of the most beloved springtime flowers, because of their simple beauty and stunning colors.

Did You Know? The daisy is actually two distinct flowers. The colored central disk is comprised of tiny individual blooms; the petals surrounding the disk are another flower.

Daisies are also very closely related to many of the flowers of this season. The sunflower, another classic spring bloom, is the most often associated with the daisy, but the marigold, dahlia, chrysanthemum and zinnia are also part of the family. Even the daisy itself has various popular versions, from the well known white and yellow Shasta daisy; to the vivid colors of the Gerbera daisy, which are a favorite bloom of florists who wish to create joyful, fun bouquets.

As the official birth flower of April, the daisy is the perfect choice for all of your friends and family’s celebrations. Whether you choose a vase full of daisies, or a bouquet of spring blooms which showcase many flowers; Boyd’s Flowers guarantees that you will be delivering happiness
